What is a fundie?

the 'meaning' of the 'fundie' label has as much to do with the beliefs of the person tossing the label about as with the person(s) being labeled. to a born-again Christian, a fundie night be someone like fred phelps or someone from one of those snake-handling churches. to a catholic, pretty much any protestant is fair game for the label-they seem to especially like the term 'bible-fundies'. to a 'casual/cultural christian (or like describe them, 'pew fillers') who can be found at church, usually nodding off and racing for the door at the end of a service, a fundie would be a 'born-again' Christian...to an atheist and/or a lot of the trolls posting on R&S, a fundie is anyone who believes in anything besides himself or herself. it's generally used as an 'insult', although it's one of the least effective-it generally fails to deliver the devastating blow intended to the target, and reveals the 'insulter' as a bigot
