Where dose afl come from?

AFL was mainly created by Tom Wills (like the Tom Wills round early this year). He wanted a game for the cricketers to stay fit in the winter. Obviously this was just beginnings and as a game became more popular, it became a proper game. It was later turned into the VFL with the first official season in 1987 (or 1988). As it became a national sport it was changed to the AFL.
