Will a female tetra lay eggs if there is no male?

It is possible that the tetra laid eggs, but without a male they won't be fertile, so they won't hatch. Watch and wait if it was the otos. If they hatch, you can bet they're otocinclus eggs. If a fungus begins forming(fuzzy stuff) they won't hatch no matter which fish laid them.
